Description and Uses
Potassium Hydroxide, KOH, is an inorganic compound, and commonly known as caustic potash. It can be used in the production of potassium chemicals, such as potassium carbonate (K2CO3) and potassium phosphates. Other uses also include manufacturing soaps, detergents, grease, catalysts, dyes, alkaline-electrolytic batteries and more. In the agriculture industry, potassium hydroxide is also used as a source in production of fertilizer for crops that are sensitive toward chloride ions.
